Herman Hesse wrote many great, sane essays on the insanity around him in Germany/ Europe during the first World War, as well as during the insane buildup and execution of Germany's role in WWII.

"The European", written in 1918, takes the form of a beautiful, instructive allegorical short story-- with insight(s) rather/ very relevant to todaze USA and anyone else coveting power/ Empire amongst humanity, on this gorgeous orb.

Maybe humanity will one day learn the essential lessons many among us are trying to learn, teach, grasp, achieve.

It's the second amongst the linx, right after "Ginsberg's HOWL".

ENJOY!
