Sinking

If you see/ realize that the ship is sinking and everybody is in mortal danger so you scream out "EVERYBODY!! The SHIP IS SINKING!!! EVERYBODY IS IN MORTAL DANGER!!!", everybody looks at you, annoyed, and whispers to one another (or merely thinks it because whispering gossip is unseemly) "What a crude man! How impolite! I'm trying to enjoy polite company and a Cosmopolitan, and he's yelling paranoid exclamations! How crude! How unseemly!!", and they all make every effort to move to the other end of the ship so as not to be associated with such a heathen.

Occupy Wall Street! It Is ON! The Oligarchs and their politicians-for-hire are taking Everything-- from ecosystems, from the economy, from the American Dream and the poor and middle class.

There are Limits to Growth. We have surpassed them. The original co-author of the 1972 book "Limits to Growth" was offered "The Japan Prize" and gave the linked Commemorative Lecture in Japan in 2009. Must-See. Must Heed. Biz as usual will cause collapse, likely unavoidable anyway, but inevitable if warnings like this continue unheeded, unsustainable nonexistent infinite Growth remains our fantasized goal as we reach and overreach finite limits.
